What Is So Special About Speedo Swimwear?

April 20, 2008

Through a short examination of swimwear through history, examining only the American history itself, the first suits that appeared on the public beaches were actually bloomers and stockings. In 1855 it became fashionable to include bottoms so that exposure did not accidentally occur with the movement of the water. By the end of the 19th century, swimsuits were modified into a blouse and trouser combination combined covering the body completely from next to leg. Modesty and protecting the female body by complete coverage was a key element in designing swimwear.

The twentieth century began to see less material and more skin, slowly swimwear began moving in and upon itself with less material covering the shoulders and legs. In 1907 an Australian woman, Annette Kellerman, was arrested while visiting the United States after she appeared in a one-piece swimsuit that was considered “lewd” for it’s time. However, within a short passing of time, this suit soon became the accepted style for swimsuits in the United States.

The twentieth century was the start of the swimsuit revolution that has continued through the years. As swimming and recreational sports grew in popularity, the swimsuit was soon designed for comfort while actively swimming, resulting in less material and coverage of the body. Additionally, European influences increased the overall exposure of skin in the swimwear industry by designing swimsuits that were more exotic in their appearance.

Now let us discuss something about the current hot swimsuits! Have you heard about this brand” Speedo swimwear”. Well, it is very popular. First, just a little background about what Speedo swimwear is. It is important to understand that Speedo is actually nothing more than a brand name. In fact, they also make swimwear for women as well. This is quite similar to how we call tissue “Kleenex” and bandages “Band-Aids”.

Most women find that they really love Speedo swimwear. However, there are also some women who feel as though Speedo swimwear should only be worn when men are playing sports and not just hanging around on the beach. Regardless of how you feel about this, there really is a certain way that Speedo swimwear should be worn. First of all, they need to be worn low. Secondly, they should also be worn super tight, so that they show off just a little bit of butt crack. It is how they look the best, especially if the person wearing it has a swimmer’s body. There are some great types of Speedo swimwear available on the market today. Most of these are of a square shape instead of a U-shape. These types of Speedo swimwear look good on many body types.

Besides Speedo swimwear, there are also other types of swimsuits that most men look good in. These include surfing shorts and swim trunks. The one thing that you do not want to do is ever wear a thong.

Surfing shorts look good on almost any guy. They are long in length and adjustable because they lace up the front, thus making them ideal for most men. These can even be worn low, as long as they are not worn too obscenely low and also as long as you do not wear underwear with them.

Swim trunks are actually the most basic type of men’s swimwear. These can be worn by men of any age. Usually they have a lining so that they are very comfortable and less revealing. Then there is either an elastic or drawstring waist, which makes them easy for you to put on and adjust. Plus, they are a good length in that they are not too terribly short, but you can still tan your legs. Of course, they are not too terribly long either, so you can swim laps around the pool and be comfortable at the same time.

Summary:

With time things have changed and today, we have become brand conscious and also look for comfort at the same time. Speedo swimsuits are cozy, comfortable and currently very popular. You get a wide variety in Speedo swimwear and can choose something that you prefer.
